During this whole quarantine, I’ve realized something. I watch a lot of TikToks (7+ hours a day to be exact). Shocking. I know, yet I’m not ashamed. I have, however, noticed something interesting about my TikTok feed during this pandemic: there’s been an abundance of workout and motivational fitness videos. Now, I don’t know if this is TikTok’s subtle way of suggesting I lose a few pounds or avoid gaining the dreaded COVID-19. More than likely, it’s merely content generated by an algorithm. Regardless, these workouts are abundant on my TikTok For You Page and have sparked the drive for me to be more active. So now, the question we all want to be answered is which “fitness experts” are legitimate and whose workouts are actually useful. Well, don’t stress, I’ve done the research for you. Here are the fitness and health accounts I recommend you consider for your quarantine workouts.
1. Jordyn Trenholm
You may have seen Jordyn on your For You Page at least once. She demonstrates some of my favorite workouts right from her own bedroom. Any of her core workouts generate an effective burn, and if you don’t believe me, just look at her chiseled abs. Those abs speak volumes. Jordyn herself says that “As a qualified and accredited trainer from The National Academy of Sports Medicine, I have a goal of helping people of all ages achieve their goal bodies by feeling happier and healthier,” Trenholm states. She has a follower base of almost 807.6K on TikTok, who tune in to see her weekly workout videos. Her page features a variety of workouts ranging from abs, legs, glutes, to arms. You name it. She even incorporates clips of her lying on the floor, breathing heavily after an intense leg day workout. Elena’s not afraid to show the real pain behind a solid workout. 4. Kelly Yager
Could you imagine a tough workout that’s actually fun? Yeah, I didn’t think it was possible either. Enter Kelly Yager. Her page features lots of dancing, whether it’s before or after her workouts as she shows you how to make working out fun. So if you are the type that needs to incorporate fun in your workout, visit her YouTube channel, which features a variety of exercises. 5. Desiree Pfeifer
This fitness expert wants to help you “create the best you.” She shares her body transformation from volleyball, Crossfit and bodybuilding. She emphasizes the importance of “body positivity” in society today and acknowledges that everyone struggles with their insecurities, whether they show it or not. These fitness experts and their workouts are incredibly effective for these quarantine times. They add the perfect variety to your workouts, and best of all, they are doable! So, when you’ve done Alexis Ren’s 10-minute ab workout or Chloe Ting’s 2-week ab challenge for the fiftieth time this quarantine, consider these TikTokers.
