On February 14,17 members of the Parkland community lost their lives in the Stoneman Douglas shooting. The horrific incident was committed by 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz with an AR-15, which he legally purchased. Students from the school traveled to Tallahassee this past weekend to talk to legislators about gun control and to lead a march to the capital on Wednesday, February 21. I had the honor of attending this march, and these are some of my favorite signs that I saw.
1. “It happened at my school #neveragain”
Nobody thinks something like this will ever affect them… until it does.

2. “Enough is Enough #WeCallBS”
I saw many “We Call BS” signs, which is a quote from a speech by a Stoneman Douglas student named Emma Gonzalez.

3. “Tomorrow it could be your kid”
Again, you never think it can happen to you until it does. Many protesters were calling for action to help prevent another school shooting, hence #NeverAgain.

4. “Listen to the students, they are the targets”
In 2018 alone, there have been 17 school shootings.

5. “For Jaime”

As the #NeverAgain movement continues to gain momentum, I look forward to more action being taken.
