As of now, Taylor Swift has released nine albums and over 150 songs, which are in the hearts of people all over the world. With so many songs and so many albums, it has become a trend among her fans to rank songs based on their track number. For example, if ranking Swift’s track ones, you would include the first song on every album. With this trend taking over TikTok, I decided to ask people to vote on my Instagram stories for their favorite tracks via a bracket-style competition! Here are the results as well as my personal opinions!
Track One
There was a tie in the first round of the track one competition; therefore, four songs were in the final round instead of three! They were “Fearless,” “Mine,” “State of Grace” and “Welcome to New York.” “Fearless,” the title track from Swift’s second album, clutched the victory. My pick, however, is “Tim McGraw” from her debut album, since it is the first song of Swift’s I ever listened to!
Track Two
The songs in the final round were “champagne problems,” “Sparks Fly” and “Red.” Ultimately “champagne problems” from Swift’s most recent album evermore triumphed! I wholeheartedly agree with the people on this one!
Track Three
The songs that made it to the final round were “Love Story,” “Back to December” and “Style.” Winning by five votes over “Love Story” was “Back to December” from Swift’s album Speak Now. In the end, I have to agree!
Track Four
The final three in this matchup were “’tis the damn season,” “exile” and “Out of the Woods.” The winning song “Out of the Woods” is from 1989, and won by a landslide of votes, and ultimately is my top track four as well.Â
Track Five
Swift and her fans will often tell you that her track fives are some of her best songs. The final round was a blowout with “All Too Well” from Red reigning supreme over “White Horse” and “Dear John.” This outcome was no surprise to me, and I am happy to agree with the popular vote!Â
Track SixÂ
The final three for this competition were not surprising, with classics “You Belong with Me,” “Mean” and “22” making the cut. Ultimately “You Belong with Me” from Fearless is the popular vote’s pick, but mine is “Look What You Made Me Do” from Reputation!
Track Seven
This track also resulted in a blowout, with “Story of Us” from Speak Now winning over “Breathe” feat. Colbie Caillat and “I Wish You Would.” However, my pick is underrated and from her album Lover; “Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince.”
Track Eight
The songs in the final round for track eight were “dorothea,” “august” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” The song that triumphed in the vote is “august” from folklore, but my pick would have to be “Never Grow Up” from Speak Now!
Track Nine
This contest was close and required a third round of voting since two songs tied in what was supposed to be the final round. Those two songs were “Enchanted” and “Should’ve Said No,” with “Enchanted” from Speak Now winning by two votes. However, I have to disagree and say that the best track nine is “Getaway Car” from Reputation.Â
Track 10
We had a landslide victory with “Better than Revenge” from Speak Now claiming victory over “ivy” and “King of My Heart.” In the end, I have to disagree, with my pick being “The Way I Loved You” from Swift’s sophomore album Fearless.
Track 11
The track 11 category holds one of Taylor Swift’s most well-known songs of all time, so naturally, that is the song that came out on top! In case you haven’t deduced, that song is “Our Song.” The debut album classic made it to the final round alongside “invisible string” and “Holy Ground.” I find myself siding with the popular vote!
Track 12
In the final round of the track 12 competition, the songs in the running were “long story short,” “Haunted” and “I Know Places,” with “Haunted” from Speak Now taking the prize! However, my pick has to be “I Know Places” from 1989.
Track 13
Now it’s time for the number that Taylor Swift and all her fans hold close to their hearts! The final three songs in this contest were “marjorie,” “Last Kiss” and “Clean.” Ultimately “Clean” from 1989 won by one vote and happens to also be my top pick!
Track 14
With no more songs from Fearless remaining after track 13, only eight albums remained. Thus, two songs made it to the final round. Those two songs were “Long Live” and “Everything has Changed” feat. Ed Sheeran. “Long Live” from Speak Now took the title, which is my top pick as well!
Track 15
The two songs that made it to the final round were “Teardrops on My Guitar (Pop Version)” and “New Year’s Day.” Ultimately “Teardrops on My Guitar (Pop Version)” from Taylor Swift won by 21 votes! However, my pick has to be “New Year’s Day” from Reputation.
Track 16
By the time track 16 came around, we had also run out of songs from Taylor Swift and Reputation; but two songs still went into the final round. Those two songs were “Begin Again” and “New Romantics,” with “New Romantics” from 1989 winning in the end. I have to disagree and say that the best track 16 is one of the bonus tracks from evermore, “right where you left me.”
Track 17Â
Only five albums remained for this matchup, and the final two songs were “The Moment I Knew” and “the lakes.” The bonus song from folklore, “the lakes,” secured the win by one vote. Ultimately, I agree with this decision!
Track 18
For track 18, only two albums remained, and therefore only two tracks were in the running for the title. Those tracks were “Come Back…Be Here” and “Daylight.” Ultimately “Come Back…Be Here” from Red is the popular vote champion, but I have to disagree with this one and go with Lover‘s closing track, “Daylight.”Â
Track 19
Only one album has 19 tracks, and that album is the deluxe edition of Red; thus, the song “Girl at Home” wins the best track 19 with no contest!Â
