Much to the dismay of Bachelor fans everywhere, Arie sent Tia home last week. As one of the only girls that seemed to be actually interested in Arie, it was heartbreaking to see her leave. While watching, I broke down in tears right along with Tia and demanded an explanation from Arie. The only words he had to offer were simple explanations assuring Tia that nothing was her fault, “there was just something missing.”
We get it, Arie. You can’t force your feelings, and the show wouldn’t be what it is if you tried. But just because you said bye to Tia doesn’t mean we have to! Let’s talk about why she should be the next Bachelorette.
Tia was one of the only contestants genuinely open to love. She came in with no hesitation and knew that she was absolutely ready for marriage. Most of the other girls wanted to find love but weren’t quite ready to jump into something so fast. Not Tia. She knew from her first one-on-one date with Arie that he was the real deal. This kind of decisiveness will help her make tough decisions with ease if she were to be the star of her own show. Her openness to love, despite being hurt in the past, matches the pace of the show and I really think she could find someone of her own.
Tia was also willing to try anything. Even though several of the group dates put her out of her comfort zone, she always jumped in headfirst and gave it her all. I mean the girl is clearly not a dancer, but she sure did strut her southern stuff in nothing but a thong at the Moulin Rogue! I can only imagine the types of dates Tia would put her bachelors through.
If you’ve never witnessed southern sass, Tia might come off a bit strong to you. Us southern women know what we want and know how to get it, all with a sweet smile on our faces. Tia doesn’t take anyone’s crap. When Krystal got on her nerves, Tia confronted her and came out victorious with a rose. She has the sassy persona down pat, making her that much more of a strong, sexy, independent woman. I would love to see the man that tried to cross someone this good at a side-eye…bless his heart!
Finally, she’s hilarious! From night one we saw that Tia has a good sense of humor and doesn’t take herself too seriously. That’s an important trait to have on a show like this where it’s so easy to get in your own head. Tia started off by making Arie laugh and quickly became pals with other girls in the house. Her easygoingness will make it easy for her to connect with several suitors right off the bat, while still being able to make good judgments of character.
So come on ABC, give the people what we want! The perfect Bachelorette is waiting for us, and for love, right at home in Weiner, Arkansas. Plus, I have a feeling we could be seeing some familiar faces on Tia’s season, seeing as she’s good friends with Raven Gates from Nick Viall’s season. I mean who wouldn’t want to be in their girl gang?
