While walking back to my car from the William Johnston Building a couple of weeks ago, I noticed something unusual that looked like it could be an art installation. As I approached I saw that there were several strings draped over the branch of a tree, each decorated with colorful ribbons. Upon closer inspection, I found that this project had a powerful message that obviously resonated with many passing FSU students.
I’m almost certain that there is not a single person in the world who can say that they have never felt alone. It’s important to remember that you are not alone in your loneliness and it’s okay to ask for help sometimes, whether it’s through counseling/therapy, a hotline, or just talking to a close friend or family member.
