While TV shows and movies serve plenty of purposes (normally a distraction from homework, if we’re being honest), a good amount of them also serve up some serious fashion inspo. Here are some characters who do just that!

Denise Huxtable, The Cosby Show
Denise was absolutely the definition of cool; there’s just no other way to put it. She could wear blue lipstick with a patterned tights and a potato sack and make you wonder why you didn’t think to wear that.

What fashion list would be complete without Cher Horowitz?! At just 15, she perfected an effortlessly chic wardrobe, which she stored in her ROTATING closet! This girl had it all and made each one of us want to invest in tartan plaid.
3. Blanche Devereaux, The Golden Girls
While some may cringe when thinking of 1980’s fashion, Blanche captured what actually made the style of the decade so cool: shoulder pads, chunky jewelry, and bright colors. Who says grandmothers can’t be fabulous?!
4. Scarlett O’hara, Gone With the Wind
Scarlett has some of the most incredible costumes in movie history. It’s been nearly 80 years since the film was released, and audiences are still mesmerized by her gowns.
5. Clarissa Darling, Clarissa Explains It All
Clarissa was the kid we all wished we could have been. Who am I kidding? I STILL want to be her! The girl rocked mismatched clothing and was so effortlessly cool.
6. Hilary Banks, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air
There are no doubts about Hilary being a huge fashionista. She knew all the style rules and would not be caught dead in anything but the best. Forget the Kardashians, Hilary was the original L.A. it girl.
7. Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City
Carrie is arguably the greatest style maven to come from television. Her eclectic style and unbelievable confidence made any fan of the show dream of living in NYC and being able to afford Jimmy Choos. Unfortunately, even her job as a columnist would could not buy a Manhattan apartment in real life.
8. Annie Hall, Annie Hall
While the film was absolutely great, the menswear fashion may have been the best part. Even better? Diane Keaton used her own wardrobe for the film!
9. Margot Tenenbaum, The Royal Tenenbaums
While she essentially wore the same look throughout the whole film, it didn’t matter because that outfit was to die for. It would make any girl want to immediately invest in a large fur coat and tons of eyeliner.
10. Morticia Addams, The Addams Family
Much like Margot Tenenbaum, Morticia never really changed her look. However, that look was fabulous enough to wear over and over again.
