Best memory of GCSU so far:Ā It’s hard to pick a best memory, but I think my overall best memory of GCSU is just seeing how far I’ve come since I transferred in as a sophomore. All the friends I’ve made along the way, being a Kappa Delta, all the crazy good times, and the crazy bad times…all of those things have made me into the person I am now.

What are the differences between college in Canada and the US: The biggest difference is the curriculum. Back at Acadia University, there was no mandatory core curriculum. Instead of spending time taking classes that had no relevance to your major for two years, you started your major classes as a freshman. I loved this because you found out right away if you were cut out for your major or not, and you end up taking 4 years of classes that are directly related to your major. For example, the English composition class that I took as a freshman was tailored to the Kinesiology degree I was working towards at the time, and it was only open to KINE and outdoor rec majors. Even my statistics class was was tailored for my degree.

What do you miss about Canada: Family. When I was in Nova Scotia for school I was able to see my uncle a lot. Living in the states, we rarely get to see our extended family. And also, ketchup. The Heinz Ketchup is slightly sweeter in Canada and tastes way better than Heinz ketchup in the States. Besides food, I miss experiencing actual seasons. There is a definite spring, summer, winter, and fall. Georgia’s seasons just seem to mesh together. Also, snow. I miss snow.

Would you like to move back one day: If everything fell into place (money, job opportunities, etc), I would love to. My dream province to live in is British Columbia.
