Clorox wipes: we all have a love hate relationship with them. They make “college” cleaning so easy. You pop the lid, pull one out, and clean up whatever mess you made or the kitchen counter you have been neglecting for a few weeks because of major tests and projects that have consumed your life for a while.
However, most people do not like cleaning so they see the Clorox wipes and a little bit of sadness fills their heart as they do not want to do a normal, adult chore. However, we must face the music sometimes and clean.
Here are four genius things you can use Clorox wipes for that you would never think of. Also, four ways to get excited about a cleaning product!
1. Shoes
You have your favorite pair of white converse or Nike running shoes that are all white or have white as a trim on the sole of the shoe. However, white is not always our friend. It is a high maintenance color to own. It gets dirty so easily and we have no clue why when we actively avoid any ground that would hurt our favorite shoes. Here is how to keep your kicks looking new.
Carefully read these directions first: wipe the shoes off with the Clorox wipe. Easy as that!
The wipe will pull off any dirt or substances that are deterring your shoes from getting compliments. Depending on how bad your shoes are, you may need to do this a few times.
If you have your white converses that are truly muddy, I would recommend using a few Clorox wipes and then using a baking soda/water mixture + an old tooth brush to scrub the shoes. Baking soda brings dirt that is settled on the material to the surface so you can wipe it away. If none of this works, I would say it is time to head to Nordstrom rack or any discount retailer that sells converse and get a new pair. Unfortunately, not all shoes are worth saving. Go treat yourself after all of that hard work cleaning your old pair that just won’t budge.
2. Car
You go grab coffee in the morning or an afternoon route 44 and manage to spill it in your cup holder, down the side of your console or it goes flying on your dashboard as you are trying to carry all of your stuff in and out of your car as you run around all day. Both coffee and soda are substances that leave traces of sugar and creme when you spill them. Meaning, they require more than a napkin or paper towel to clean up.
Whip out your Clorox wipes form your trunk or glove box and go to town. The sooner you do it to when you spilled it, the better. No one likes a sticky looking or smelling car. Keep it fresh and clean!
3. School
You walk into a classroom or the library and sit down at your study spot. First thing you notice is the past user of the said desk or table did not clean up their lunch or snacks. You do not feel like going to the bathroom and stealing five billion paper towels and then going back to throw all of those paper towels away.
Dig into your back pack and find your on-the-go Clorox wipes. They usually come in resalable, plastic package. Then wipe up your desk, not only cleaning up your mess but always and germs that may be on that surface. The flu and colds spread like wild fires on college campuses so having Clorox wipes kills two birds with one stone.
4. Vanity/Sink
Ladies, if you use any sort of mineral makeup or loose makeup then you know how it gets everywhere. No matter how talented you are at tapping, swirling, shaking etc. you see flecks of your makeup all over your sink, vanity or if you are lazy and do your make up in bed. You try just grabbing some toilet paper or Kleenex (whatever is closer) and wipe. You get the pieces up but there are streaks still on the surface.
Clorox wipes are the best method for you to clean it up and make it look like you do not even wear makeup.
Just keep some near your sink or vanity so you can grab one when needed.
I hope this piece, inspired by Clorox wipes, will be useful in your life and save you from showing how messy you really are to people, like myself. Being on the go all the time is not as easy as it looks. However, with Clorox wipes, they make my life that much easier.
