Alumni Celeb: Nora AndersonÂ
Nora Anderson is a recent graduate of Georgia College who has, since her departure, gone on to do great things. She was well known during her tenure at Georgia College for her role as a Community Advisor, and her giving heart. Since graduation she has moved to Massachusetts to further her eduation. Nora is definitely missed and I got the chance to catch up with her this past week.
Â
Lindsey Poe: Hey Nora, thanks for letting me interview you for our campus celebrity this week.
Nora Anderson: Hey! It’s not a problem; I’m honored to be chosen!
LP: So, let’s get the ball rolling; tell me a little about yourself. What are some of your favorite things?
NA: I recently got into Vikings. Like History Channel’s Game Of Thrones, which is awesome. I really like crafting and I make a lot of things. I also like being outdoors, preferably in a hammock. I’ve also been able to do some kayaking so that’s been fun!Â
LP: That’s great! So, what have you been up to since graduation?
NA: I graduated from Georgia College in the spring 2015 and I’m currently in a master’s program for student affairs in higher education at UMass Lowell.
LP: And what do you hope to do once you have your master’s?
NA: I eventually plan to work in higher education in an administrative role to combine my business administrative degree from Georgia College and my passion for student affairs.
LP: I think you’ll be great in student affairs. You were a wonderful CA!
NA: Thanks!
LP: Okay, so last question. What do you miss most about Georgia College?
NA: I miss the people the most because (Georgia College) was so small that I knew everybody and it was great to be around people that had similar ideals and passions.
LP: Yeah, UMass is quite large in comparison. But, thank you so much for letting me interview you! It was great to talk to you.
NA: Like I said, I was honored to be chosen. I’ll talk to you later!Â
