Although it’s hard to pick one favorite, I’d have to say that the cartoon that has lasted with me the longest and is probably my all time favorite would be Adventure Time. I love the wacky, strange and sometimes even creepy vibes of this show. I think as a kid the bright colors and ridiculous jokes were what drew me in, but watching the show as an adult adds a whole new layer to it. The show often delves into deep philosophical topics such as identity and childhood trauma that definitely flew over my head when I first watched it, but make the experience of watching it now so much richer. Â

When thinking back to my favorite childhood cartoons, the obvious answer is always Spongebob. It’s timeless, hilarious and honestly perfect, which is why I can’t not choose it as my favorite childhood cartoon. Spongebob was not my childhood favorite, but my lifetime favorite.Â
My childhood favorite was definitely a more difficult decision to make. I loved the classics: Little Bear, Franklin and Oswald. Gulla Gulla Island and Pinky Dinky Doo are ones that I am convinced nobody else has ever seen, but amazing nonetheless. Overall though, I feel like The Best of Bert and Ernie Special has to take the cake. I probably watched that VHS tape eight times a week and it never got old.Â

Looking back on my childhood, I’d have to say that my favorite cartoon as a kid was Total Drama Island. I watched that show religiously on my Kindle, but somehow never got through the third season. I really just watched season one, and sometimes season two, on a loop. I loved the drama. My favorite character was Gwen, and looking back on it I definitely had a crush on her and didn’t realize it. I feel like the fact that this was my favorite show says a lot about me, and is probably responsible for making me as obsessed with reality TV as I am today. I also still REALLY love drama, not actually being in it obviously, but watching it and talking about it.Â
