There are so many hidden gems just waiting to be discovered. Our writers decided to explore some of the places they’ve been once they’ve left the Geneseo area.

My friends and I went to a really cute place in Rochester called Magnolia’s Deli & Bakery! It was right in the middle of nice shops and other tasty restaurants. A perfect place to get a sweet treat or a yummy lunch.

My significant other and I recently visited this amazing family owned restaurant called Tandoor of India! If you like Indian food, this is a great place to try, located in Henrietta, NY.
Margaux Carmel
In Rochester, there is an adorable restaurant called The Red Fern that specializes in vegan dining and has gluten free and allergen free menus. I’ve only been there once, but I definitely want to return now that I have my own car!

The first place that came to mind was Brian’s USA Diner in Mt. Morris. I’ve gone several times with friends pre- and post- COVID. It’s a perfect little diner when you need that craving.

As a Geneseo native, this roundtable is SCREAMING my name. As a Western New Yorker, Wegmans literally runs in my blood, specifically the mother of Wegmans, or the Pittsford location. If you have never been to the Pittsford Wegmans, go and go now. There’s a burger bar within the TWO STORY grocery store, and it offers literally anything you could ever need! If you do decide to venture out, make sure to wear a mask and keep your distance!!

My new favorite place to go is Rick’s Recycled Books, a secondhand bookstore located in Rochester. Located on Monroe avenue, this tiny bookstore is filled with floor to ceiling bookshelves and books scattered across the floor. It’s just as charming as it is chaotic (in a good way). They have an excellent selection of genres to choose from which perfectly compliment their low prices. Highly recommend it to anyone in the area!
