We’re super excited here at Her Campus Geneseo to show you what we got in our Summer Survival Kits!  Let’s jump in!

Oh Be Hive Dry Shampoo by Bed Head by TIGI

I have fairly dry hair, so I don’t often use dry shampoo. When I tried it, I thought it might’ve actually been hairspray at first because I didn’t realize that you have to brush your hair after you use it. I have curly hair, so I only brush my hair when it’s wet (or I run the risk of crazy, frizzy hair). My recommendation is to only use this if you have very oily hair or you want to tease your hair. This is perfect for teasing because it adds a ton of texture to your hair! However, once you use it you have to brush your hair, so if you have dry, curly hair like I do, then this probably isn’t the dry shampoo for you. This product is gold for anyone with oily, straight hair though!

Beach Me Wave Defining Gel Mist Bed Head by TIGI

I am 100% serious when I say that I might use this as a perfume. This is without a doubt the best smelling hair product that I have ever used! I was skeptical of how well it works, however. I am the type of person who finds a product they like and then never ever buys anything else. I have a particular brand of hair mousse that I have used for the past four or five years, and I never strayed from that brand once I found out that I liked it. That made me cautious when trying this new product. I think that beach waves must be a lot looser than my natural waves/curls because while this did work, it wasn’t as much of a hold as I’m used to. It’s a very loose hold for waves that give off some cute hippie vibes! While I will stick to my same old hair mousse, this product is definitely worth a try if you’re looking for loose, beach waves or a new perfume!

Beach Freak Moisturizing Detangler Spray by Bed Head by TIGI

I’ve already established that I exclusively brush my hair when it’s wet, making this product perfect! You spritz some in your damp or wet hair and brush. It’s simple and effective! It also moisturized my hair pretty well. I have unfortunately dry hair, but this added a bit of softness to my straw hair! I was really impressed.

Schick Silk Touch Up Razor

I’d never heard of razors for your face and eyebrows before, so I outsourced some help from my suitemates for this one! One of them had used a product like this before, and she helped me because I have a fear of messing up my eyebrows beyond repair. We got all of our suitemates in on an eyebrow party! Some of their tips for the razors were to go slow and shave against your hair. They loved the way they worked! Perfect for shaping eyebrows, exfoliating your skin, and getting rid of any annoying peach fuzz!

Schick Quattro YOU™

I am a bit of a tightwad when it comes to beauty products, so I tend to grab the cheapest pack of razors that are available. They work fine if you don’t mind a couple of nicks. However, after using the Quattro You razors by Schick, I’ve been changed, I’ve seen the light! They worked so smoothly, and I didn’t end up with a single nick!

Skintimate 2-in-1 Shave Cream & Skin Conditioner

Wow! That’s honestly the word I thought when I used this product. This worked so well when I used it to shave, and it left my skin so soft! This is perfect for when you randomly decide to wear a tank top or dress, but you didn’t plan ahead by shaving in the shower. You just rub on some Skintimate, wet your razor, and shave normally! No need to even rinse off because it’s a moisturizer. The perfect quick fix or normal shaving routine if you hate shaving in the shower. This was also my favorite product in the survival kit!

Full-On™ Lip Polish in Dolly by Buxom Cosmetics

I love Buxom lip glosses! I have for quite a while because I have very thin lips, and their plumping lip glosses work wonders. This shade is particularly beautiful. It’s a pretty, nude color with a gorgeous shining shimmer finish! A great color for daytime makeup that’s a bit fun, but not too bold. I recommend rocking this shade at your next summer get-together with friends!

Krazy Glue All Purpose Singles 4ct.-0.5g

These are a must have staple in any survival kit! Want to do a bit of crafting? Need to fix a pair of sunglasses? You never know when you’ll need Krazy Glue! It always proves itself to be crazy useful (pun intended)! I keep the package of these singles in my backpack because more than once one of my friends or I break something and need a quick and strong fix.

Feeling Beautiful™ Clearing Sweet Tea + Lemon Peel-Off Mask by Freeman Beauty

Let me preface by saying that I had never used a peel-off face mask before using this one, so I think any of my mishaps may have been due to my lack of experience. Just to get it out of the way (and so you can laugh at my inexperience) I definitely managed to get this in my hair, I did not wait long enough for it to dry, and I somehow got it all over my shirt. I am just not naturally skilled at beauty routines! If you avoid making the silly mistakes that I did, you will love this product! It smells wonderful, it left my face so smooth, and it toned down some of the acne I had! I imagine that it would’ve worked even better if I had let it completely dry before trying to peel it off. I’m definitely giving this product another shot now that I have learned from my mistakes!

Freeman Beauty Feeling Beautiful™ Polishing Charcoal + Black Sugar Gel Mask + Scrub

This is hands down the best face mask that I’ve ever used! It went on very smooth, dried nicely, and washed off a million times easier than I thought it would. I was worried that it would wash off in crumbles or that I’d have to really scrub it off, but instead it melted away as soon as water hit it! It left my skin feeling smooth and looking bright. It was the perfect fix for my after-an-all-nighter tired and dull looking skin!

We hope these reviews help you find the best products for you and your upcoming summer vacation!
