Whether it’s Valentine’s, Galentine’s, or you just want an excuse to get a good deal on some great food, these restaurants have you covered!

While I’m personally the type that prefers hibernating in my room with one too many Wendy’s takeout bags, there’s no denying a good deal when it arises (especially when it’s coming from a restaurant on the pricier side). This amalgamation of restaurants is just some of the few offering Valentine’s Day deals while also being easily accessible via George Mason’s shuttle system.

1. California Pizza Kitchen’s “Sweet Deal for Two”

The “Sweet Deal for Two” offers one appetizer, two entrees, and one dessert for $35. However, the deal offers a limited menu with only three appetizers, ten entrees, and three desserts to choose from, so definitely take a look at the menu beforehand to see if your favorites are there!

California Pizza Kitchen has two locations close to George Mason! One is in Fairfax Corner, which is accessible from the Gunston Go-Bus lines. The other is in Tyson’s Corner, which is accessible from the Mason to Metro shuttle and the Metro’s Silver Line.

2. Chick-Fil-A’s heart-shaped trays

The Valentine’s Day heart-shaped trays have actually been out since January 20th and will stay in stock until February 29th. To get these special trays, you’ll need to order 30 Chick-Fil-A Nuggets, 10 Chick-N-Minis, or six chocolate chunk cookies. While the trays don’t seem to save you any money, they also don’t seem to be charging anything extra for the festive containers, so they’re perfect for surprising your friends and loved ones!

There are plenty of Chick-Fil-As in the area, but two, in particular, are in Fair Lakes Shopping Center and on Fairfax Boulevard. To get to Fair Lakes, you’ll need to take the Gunston Go-Bus route, and to get to Fairfax Boulevard, hop on the Gold 2 CUE Bus line (it’s free when you show your Mason ID card)!

3. Hooters’s “Shred Your Ex” Deal

Regardless of whether or not you’re a fan of Hooters, it’s hard to deny the catharsis of destroying a picture of your ex after a particularly bad breakup (especially if you get free wings in the process). There are two ways to do this one, the first being to go on Hooters’s website, upload a picture of your ex, and enter your email for a coupon code! You can also print out a picture of your ex and bring it to the restaurant so they can do it in person. All you have to do to redeem your code after that is buy ten boneless wings to get a second set of ten for free!

Hooters has one location near Geroge Mason on Fairfax Boulevard. You can get there for free via the Green 2 CUE Bus line when you show your Mason ID.

4. Dunkin’ Donuts’ Pink Drinks and Munchkins

Whether you’re a Dunkin’ fan or Starbucks fan, it’s hard to deny that Dunkin’ has a pretty great track record of making sweet holiday-themed treats. For Valentine’s Day, Dunkin’ Donuts announced two new “pink velvet” drinks, two heart-shaped donuts (Cupid’s Choice and Brownie Batter), and a sweet new Munchkins deal! Throughout February, you can get ten Munchkins for just $2 (or if you’re me, 30 for $6)! These donuts, drinks, and deals only last for a limited time though, and they’re all available at the Dunkin’ Donuts on Fairfax Campus.

5. Maggiano’s Little Italy’s “That’s Amore” Meal for Two

If you’re in the mood for taking your sweetheart or friends out for some food on the expensive side, this is the perfect opportunity. You do have to make reservations for the hefty $80 meal, but with it, you’ll get a starter, two entrees, two beverages, a dessert, and a box of Zuccotto Bites. You can also bring the deal home for just $50 (just minus the drinks and Zuccotto Bites). Similar to California Pizza Kitchen, however, the deal comes with a limited menu to choose from.

Maggiano’s Little Italy has one location in Tyson’s Corner Galleria. Just take the Mason to Metro shuttle and hop on the Silver Line for a fun night out in Tyson’s Corner!

Regardless of who you’re spending Valentine’s Day with this year (even if it’s just Netflix, which is perfectly valid), you’ll have plenty of options close to or on campus to make the holiday all the more delicious!
