It’s that time of year again! By now we know our roommates’ favorite things, from clothing style to favorite places to eat. Every year, to bond with our roomates and floormates, a secret santa gift exchange is always in action. You might need some help thinking of gift ideas, but most importantly how to shop while on a budget. As college students, every penny counts. Check out the gift guide below!
1. Perfume and Lotions
Everyone loves to smell good! This gift idea never fails. Stores like Bath & Body Works has so many scents to choose from, which makes it easier to pick a scent for your friends. B&BW offers coupons and promotions so you’ll easily be able to snag a gift.
2. Posters
Surprise your roommate with something for their rooms! Posters with their favorite celebrity idols and bands will spruce up any dorm or room back home. Posters with quirky or catchy phrases are also a plus! You can find posters any where from Claire’s to Icings all at great prices.
3. Sweaters
The chillier temperatures are kicking in this season. What’s better than to snuggle up to a cozy sweater? You can get your friend a stylish sweater or make them laugh with an ugly holiday sweater! Forever 21 has affordable and comfy sweaters at great prices.
4. Jewelry
If your roommates are pierced and love jewelry, this would be the perfect gift for them! Buy a necklace, a cute pair of earrings, or bracelets to accent their favorite shirt. This is a perfect gift because they will think of you everytime they wear it! Great places to buy affordable jewelry include Forever21, Claire’s, and Icings!
5. Gift Cards
College students live on coffee, so a Starbucks gift card would do the trick. College students take any opportunities for free food so a gift card to their favorite restaurant would be top notch! You can never go wrong with gift cards. Some great ideas would be Starbucks, Target, Chipotle, or Dunkin Donuts.
6. Crafts
This is my personal favorite. These gifts are priceless. Crafts have so much thought put into them and your roommate will be greatly appreciative that you could make something from the heart! Make is personalized and fun! Visit your local crafts store like Jo-Ann Fabrics or Michael’s!
Let’s all make our roommates feel special and get into the holiday spirit!
