Kayla Hanigan: 2015

Why did you join Her Campus?

KH: I joined Her Campus because I wanted to be part of an organization that empowered college women near and far. Her Campus was started by such driven and successful women that inspired me to work towards my personal passions and goals.

How has Her Campus made you an empowered college woman?

KH: Her Campus has completely enhanced my collegiate experience. Through Her Campus, I was able to better my creative writing skills and refine my voice all while getting to know so many talented women here on George Mason’s campus. Through the support of Her Campus, I was given the opportunity to take up a leadership role and have an invaluable experience.

What are your career aspirations?

KH: I am an aspiring elementary education teacher. Specifically, my dream would be to teach at an international school and give back to the education that shaped me into the person I am today.

What else are you involved in on campus?

KH: I am involved with the Panhellenic sorority Alpha Phi, as well as several community service opportunities such as FACETS.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

KH: Even though I’m not the best, I love making art canvases and different arts and crafts. I love to read and spend time with my loved ones too.

Anything else that you want people to know about you?

KH: I have lived in seven countries, mainly in Latin America and Europe, and have learned three languages other than English (German, Portuguese, Spanish). Also, my dream pet is a goat.
