You’ve seen the afro, but have you heard the story? Meet Michael—Friendly, outgoing, talented and creative—are just a few adjectives used to describe this Mason socialite. You probably saw him strutting down the runway at last week’s Red Alert Fashion Show; however, there’s more to life than being “really, really, ridiculously good looking.” I got to talk with his week’s campus cutie and find out what lies beneath the curls.
Hometown: Suffolk, VA
Year: Junior
Major: Graphic Design
Why did you choose GMU? I chose GMU, because it was close to the DC area, which is a good area for graphic design. I also get instate tuition while being pretty far from my home in southern Virginia. New Environment.
Favorite thing about GMU or favorite memory: When my best friend jumped into the Mason Pond.
Random talents: Drawing and dancing
Life Aspiration/Goals: Become a graphic designer and own my own business one day. Raise a family in a nice suburban home, and give back to the community.
Favorite Quote: “You had a purpose before anyone had an opinion.”
What are you involved in on campus? Graphic designer for the GMU Review, Graphic designer for National Lacrosse, HIV/AIDS fashion show
What was it like being in the HIV/AIDS fashion show? It was really fun and I met a lot of cool people. This fashion show was my first time ever modeling and everyone was very supportive. Not only was it fun but also it was great being involved in an event that spread awareness about such a deadly disease, HIV and AIDS. Where do you want to live after college? California
