Thanksgiving break is a blessing and a curse. You get to spend time with family and eat lots of great food, but when you go back to school you’re so over the semester that you’re counting down the days until winter break starts. Here are some tips and tricks to help you get through the final weeks of the semester and avoid the holiday burnout:

1. Get your assignments done!

It’s the end of the semester. All you want to do is lay in bed and binge watch Netflix, but you’re going to want to get those assignments done. Nothing is worse than waiting until the last minute to write three papers and complete dreaded group assignments.

2. Coffee is your best friend

Whether you need a quick pick me up in the mornings or extra energy when pulling all nighters, coffee will be your go to drink.

3. Your mental health is important, take time to relax.

The stress around holidays and final season can be extremely overwhelming, so make sure to take time for yourself whenever you can. Take a long, hot bath before bedtime or treat yourself to a chill day so that you can have some peace of mind during this stressful time.

4. Get all your packing done ahead of time

Moving out of your dorm for the holiday break can be stressful. Pack everything you need for break with plenty of time in advance so you’re not scrambling at the last minute trying to pack everything you need.

5. Enjoy the end of the semester

Hang out with your friends, do all the fun activities campus has to offer before the semester is over. You’ll miss it over winter break.
