Now that the spring semester has gone online and we are practicing social distancing at home, I’m sure that many of you, just like I am, are realizing how long a day can drag on when you’re staying at home all day. It’s essential that we continue to practice social distancing at this time so here are a few things you can do to fill the time and keep yourself active and busy.
1. Schedule TIme to Talk to Friends
Although we are physically distancing ourselves from people, that doesn’t have to stop us from socializing with our friends and family. Try to schedule a facetime or zoom call with friends a couple of times a week so that you always have some social interaction to look foreword to.
2. Try an at Home Workout
Exercise can be a good mood booster when you’re feeling sluggish and unmotivated. You don’t have to do anything too intense, and you can find a lot of youtube videos online that match your interests/skill level. Some of my personal favorites lately have been the Chloe Ting ab workout as well as Blogilates pilates workouts which can be found on her youtube and TikTok channel, she also has monthly calendars and challenges on her website if you’d like to commit to a longterm program.

3. Do Something Creative
Physical school usually limits my time and ability to do creative projects, but with all this newfound time on my hands, I have no excuse anymore. You don’t have to create something perfect, just relax and express yourself.
4. Bake Something New
Baking is a very easy way to keep yourself occupied and is rewarding because you have something delicious to eat when you’re all done. Here are some recent recipes I’ve tried lately
5. Organize your Closet
My closet was definitely in an embarrassingly messy state before I decided to declutter it. With spring approaching, I decided to swap my winter weather clothes for my warmer weather clothes. If you have clothes that are in good condition that you no longer need or wear, consider donating them.
Stay safe, collegiettes!
