What’s In Her Bag: Editor-In-Chief

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at George Mason University chapter.

This is the first of many upcoming “What’s in Her Bag.” Each week we will be blogging about what each of the staff writers carries in her bag on a day to day basis. Varying from essentials, school supplies, books, etc all of us collegiettes carry a bag that sometimes has our life in it. First up, is me, Editor-in-Chief of Her Campus George Mason, Sabel Harris.

Everyone always asks me how I do it all. I’m honestly not trying to “toot my own horn,” but I know have a ton of activites going on in my life right now. My answer is: I don’t sleep.

Actually, I wish that were the case because I probably would have so much other time to do more things. I promise, I’m not crazy. The one thing that saves me everyday is my bag. I carry probably a little too much for my own good, but everything I need is always in my trusty praline-colored LongChamp.

I’m sure you have seen a inordinate amount of LongChamps on various girls’ shoulders across campus, but let me tell you this bag is amazing. It fits just about every little thing I need. And from the looks of this picture, it is easy to say that I carry everything, but the kitchen sink with me.

Breaking down the innards of my bag sans my cellphone, laptop, camera and books for classes during that day, one would be able to find my essentials that get me through my hectic day.

First, my lifeline my agenda. Yes, it is a Lilly Pulitzer Agenda and it is probably my second child next to my camera. I rely on this to keep me ontrack daily. What it comes down to it is if I lose it or forget it during the day; that day will turn into a disaster because I will not know what is going on.

However, I also have my handy-dandy Kate Spade Notebook to make it through the day as well. This notebook has ideas, to-lists, email contacts and whatever else I decide to write down.

My glasses come next. They are in a stylish/dirty Missoni case and because of the number of hours a day I spend straining my eyes I wear them regularly.

Please forgive the stray highlighter and pen as they have yet to make it back to my pencil case.

Next comes the pack of Orbit Gum, lotion, anti-bacterial, band-aid friction blocker, mirror, Bosicia face blotter sheets and sticky notes. Each a little life-saver for those moments that arise during the day

Also, that little elephant you see isn’t a toy its my USB drive. Cute, right?

Moving onto the other side of things brings my leisure reading for the week if I happen to a have a moment to spare and my card holder that carries my Mason ID and credit cards. My ipod is always nestled in my bag for music to listen to on the way to class.

Last, but certainly not least my all time favorite lip balm–Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm in Black Tea and Blackberry. I use to be an avid Burts Bee addict, but this little baby has captured my heart.

My bag is never this clean, organized and picture perfect; however, it does carry me through my day at Mason. Ready to see what is in everyone else’s bags? Check back next week!
