I started out at Diane Von Furstenberg, a personal favorite, and soaked in the pieces of her Spring 2012 line for over two hours. I was exhausted and I felt even worse for the models
that had to constantly change outfits for the buyers. Someone should have been throwing them a piece of chocolate every thirty minutes, just to keep them smiling. Lace minis, silk shorts, and head to toe floral were splashed and sewn into her collection. I could barely hold my jaw from dropping.  The craftsmanship of her work is magnetic. I am definitely a fall and winter girl, but I yearn for spring just so I put these pops of color on and strut down my own runway–a.k.a. the hallway of my house.  I find that Diane’s clothes embody chic meets feminine classic.  Everyone from Kate Middleton to Rachel Bilson owns something of hers. (Note: Vintage shops are perfect for looking for her pieces-70’s wrap dresses will never go out of style). If you are able to snag one of her dresses, cherish and keep it forever! I only wish my mom had thirty years ago.
My day ended at Tory Burch. Her office was painted tangerine and her logo was shown and just about everything from candles to the hangers. Glossy fiberglass tables and satin pink chairs lay in her studio as the racks displayed the clothing by delivery. Sailor jackets,
Chanel inspired tweed and symmetrical dresses swept the floor. Tory is known for her flats and totes but anyone who has followed her career knows her clothing has come a long way from the tunics that Oprah first raved about years ago. Tory is uptown meets boho. Â She has the uncanny ability to pair floor length sequin skirts with a chambray button up. Think J.Crew, but more sophisticated. Â The perfect line for your first big interview outfit or the leopard cashmere sweater you can return to season after season. This collection did not disappoint and continued to prove that Tory Burch will is not going away in this industry. Â
The spring trends that I have seen thus far are color, color, color!  Stripes are always a go-to and color blocking is still dominant on the runway.  Embellishments and exposed buttons also on top of the list. However, my advice: let’s get through winter first. I cannot even begin to think about lime green tunics and gladiator sandals until at least January.
