Doing the most in everything you do can sometimes be seen as a negative thing to people. If you’re like me, you’ve heard someone say, “Omg you always does THE MOST! Why are you so extra?” Then they’ll top it off with a judgemental look and leave you feeling bad about yourself and your personality. My entire life I have constantly been beaten down for being too “out there” or have even been told that my personality is annoying. The pressure of being “normal” and fitting in weighed me down everyday of my life. It wasn’t until recently that I have become okay with being “extra,” and it is honestly something I am very proud of. It is something everyone who is constantly labeled as extra should be proud of and I am going to prove it to you!

1. People remember you

People will talk all kinds of trash about you, but it’s only because of their underlying desire to be you. They see you and see someone who is proud to be themselves and living their life to the fullest. They immediately want to hate you, but that’s okay! You will encounter this all throughout your life, but those people will ALWAYS remember you and how amazing you are! Just keep being yourself, focus on your happiness and they will continue to be unsatisfied with their lives. This is also great when it comes to jobs or internship opportunities. Your larger than life personality can leave a good impression on people and when they try and think about the perfect person for the job or position, you’ll be one of the first people to pop in their head!Via Giphy

2. Attract the right crowd

If you try and change yourself to fit in, then you’ll end up becoming friends with people you realize you don’t have a lot in common with. Don’t alter yourself or your personality to be someone you think everyone will like because there is no way you can please everyone and be friends will everyone. This can also lead to even more issues and you will be left feeling dissatisfied with your life. Trust me, this is what I did a majority of my life. So just keep being yourself and doing what makes you happy. You’ll attract friends that are just as extra and amazing as you!Via Giphy

3. You have WAY more fun

When people try and think about who they know that is always down to have fun and make the most out of everything, it’s usually always the person labeled as extra! You know how to make everyday the best day and people recognize it. When your friends or coworkers are looking for a good time or just a pick-me-up, you’re the person they come to. You are living life to the fullest and that is one of the most freeing feelings! Never let anyone try and stop you from having fun and bringing a little more life into everything you do.Via Giphy

4. It’s freeing to just be yourself

When you finally become confident enough in yourself to just let go and be you, it is the most freeing feeling. Throughout my life I would constantly have to stop myself from doing or saying things because I would constantly be told that I was “too much” for them. This is no way to live. You no longer worry about coming off as overbearing if people think you are crazy or being annoying! The weight of constantly trying to come off as “normal” and stifling your personality is gone and it couldn’t feel better.Via Giphy

5. You live life to the fullest

Extra people know how to live life to the fullest. Their personalities truly are larger than life itself. These are the people that know who they are, what they want out of life and they go after it without hesitation. No one wants to be average and certainly no one wants to be known as mediocre. We all want to live the best life we can and leave behind our legacy, and that is exactly what extra people are doing. By making the most out of everything and just being yourself, you are truly living your best life

Now own your extra personality collegiates and WERK!
