Alarm goes off. The absolute last thing you want to do is think about what to wear to class. Is the weather too “in between” for the boots? How about the classic big sweatshirt and leggings duo? Is that too little…too much? The possibilities for your wardrobe are endless and, here at Georgetown, there are a variety of styles and outfit choices ranging from very preppy to casual chic. Whatever your individual style may be, here are some pretty simple tips to help keep you looking ready to go for the day, without overdoing it.

1. Scarf it up – That’s right, ladies, fall is in the air! All those scarves you’ve been stowing away all summer can now make their way out of the depths of your closets. Although the weather here has been acting a little funky, a simple scarf is almost always safe bet. Not only will it update your outfit, but it will also add that little something something to make looking cute for class seem like a breeze.

2. Flats, flats, flats– We are now entering the dreaded in-between weather. Some days are not cold enough to whip out the boots, but also not warm enough to go with the usual flip flops….now what? Why not try a cute pair of flats? There are many different types of flats out there that seem to go with and compliment numerous outfits and styles. They’re comfortable to boot! (no pun intended)

3. Gimme the Jeans– Never underestimate the power of the jeans. Dressier than sweatpants, jeans are the perfect fix for when you don’t want to overdress but also don’t want to look like you’ve just rolled out of bed either. Whatever type of jeans you may like (boot-leg, skinny, flare…), you can always make them work. Not to mention they are in-between weather approved!

4. Lay on the Vests/Sweaters– Long, short, warm, thin…sweaters and/or vests are great ways to add another layer to your outfit AND keep you warm! If it is not quite cold enough for that winter North Face, throw on a cut off sweater and watch how that simple shirt and jeans combo just got a whole lot cuter.

There ya have it! Just a few things to add onto your wardrobe checklist that can make dressing for class a lot less of a chore. Also, if you don’t feel like rushing the next morning, try planning your outfit out the night before. It’ll save you some time in the morning and guarantee that you’re ready for the day. If you have any tips/suggestions of your own on dressing for class, leave a comment and let us know! Happy Fall, Hoyas!
