We all have that boy who is the reason why we wake up 20 minutes earlier to decide on a cuter outfit and apply that extra mascara. The boy who makes us very nervous as we walk to and from class, wondering if we’ll spot him in the crowd. That boy who is in our circle of friends, in one of our classes, or maybe just that familiar face at Yates every night at 6:00 PM. Wherever and whenever our guy may lurk, the main objective is to get him to notice us. But how? Here are some quick tips to make him see that you might just be the best catch around:
Â
1.) Make a fashion statement: Believe it or not, guys notice what you wear. The difference between those simple jeans and those cool neon pants is very big. While you don’t want to go all Lady Gaga meat dress on him, taking a bit of a risk with your clothing (which make you look hot, of course) can make you stand out in the crowd and catch his eye almost immediately. Chances are he will compliment you on them too. Hello, conversation starter.
2.) Enhance your features: Guys are instantly drawn to certain aspects of your body. For example, eyes are a very noticeable feature, perhaps the most focused upon area of all. Play them up with your eye make up. The “glowiness” of your skin is also an attraction for guys. Highlight your cheekbones with bronzers/blushes and make sure to moisturize your face every morning and night. Also emphasis your figure with your clothes. Try synching your waist with a belt or wearing outfits that compliment the natural curves of your body. Play up to your strengths and he will be sure to notice them.
3.) Be Confidant: This is probably the oldest trick in the book yet girls are still scared to be their true selves…especially around the guy they like. The truth is, is that guys like it when a girl walks into a room and has no problem fitting in. It shows independence and what is sexier than that? Even better…having that relaxed, confidant aura will draw him in because any awkwardness that could potentially happen is now non-existent. He’ll want to talk to you because he’ll want to know your story, especially if the two of you do not really know each other. Smile, laugh, and show him that you are an approachable, fun girl to be with. Be careful though. There is a fine line between being the cute, confident girl-next-door to being overly cocky. You might think that stealing his drink at a bar is a flirtatious move but chances are he won’t be impressed.
4.) Play the Game. Who says girls must always chase? Even if you are head over heels in love with your guy, make sure you are playing the field (especially if you know he is as well.) As much as girls love to talk, guys like to gossip just as much. If Prince Charming hears that other guys are interested in you, it’ll peak his interest. Men are competitive and thrive off of the chase just as much as we do. It’ll also show him that you not the clingy type and are perfectly capable of landing any guy you want. If he is the least bit interested in pursuing something with you, expect him to make a move. If he doesn’t, you now have plenty of other great options. His loss.
5.) Pair Up. This might take some confidence and effort on your part, but what better way to get him to notice you then to literally get close to him? Whether it be partnering up for a game of beer pong or sitting next to him in class, the closer you are physically, the more you can get to know him emotionally. Work up the courage to ask him a question in class, or make small talk at a party. Even the simple walk by will put you on his radar. DON’T force things, though. Let it happen naturally. There is nothing worse than over-flirting or being around all.the.time. Do your own thing but make it a point to be in his presence every once in awhile so that he knows you are interested. Once he realizes that you are a fun girl with a cool personality, the hard part is over!
