We have all done it. That one night when we’re just not in the mood to go out. Whether you want to stay in or you just want to do something other than your current plan, every once in a while you just get cranky. You become “the whiner”. I was in a weird mood, a funk- just did not want to go out. Getting dressed sounded awful, putting on make-up even worse, and I couldn’t even imagine leaving the comfort of my gigantic sweatshirt. Yet, my friends would not have any of my whining. My big sweatshirt went back in my drawer and my dress came off the hanger.
The irony of being the whiner came later that night, when after being dragged out, I had SO much fun. The night could not have been better. I felt like such a pain to have been bugging my friends all day about not wanting to go out, when all along they were right. I dealt with a couple “told-you-so” comments from my friends, screaming, “Don’t you wish you stayed in!?” I couldn’t even attempt to defend myself. I had a great night. Sometimes your friends just know best. The next time you feel like the whiner, take that sweatshirt off and go out- sans the complaining. You can always go home, but you do not want to miss out on a great night with your good friends.
