#ThatAwkwardMoment When You Don’t Know Which Hookup You’re Talking About…

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Georgetown chapter.

Hopefully, all of you wonderful readers had a good weekend. I know my friends did. We gathered, as we usually do on Sundays, in Leo’s to eat some food and chat about the happenings of the weekend. Usually, it goes like, “Oh my god that one time when you were screaming and dancing on the table was so funny!” or “Oh that guy you got with was so cute!” However, this weekend as we were all talking, the conversation turned into: “Oh that one guy was so nice to you on Saturday at the party, did you hang out with him after?” “Wait which one?” “The blonde one?” “No, no, I saw her with a tall brunette guy.” “No that wasn’t her that was me!” “Wait how did that go? He was cute!” “Wait so who was she talking to?”

Apparently, instead of one or two of us having a good weekend, we all did! I mean this is a great accomplishment, but we honestly could not even hold a straight conversation, because we could not figure out which guy was which!

I know it sounds like my friends and I are crazy- I swear we’re not! This is not a weekly occurrence. Something in the air this weekend made everyone a little wild! I also heard all kinds of stories from girls and guys about this weekend, so I am using that as justification that my friends and I are not going crazy (……just go with it). This is the good type of awkward, I hope you all experience it at some point. That awkward moment when you and all of your friends have a great weekend….and maybe get with a guy, or two guys (or four guys?!). Someone actually got with four people this weekend, if you see her and you know her high five her because I mean… that is impressive.

Every once in a while, have fun! Not to say that the tally of guys you got with defines the weekend, and in no way am I promoting getting with this many people, if anyone at all, every weekend, but it’s college! Embrace the awkwardness and laugh about it! Hit that point at your Sunday night dinner when everyone is so confused about who did what, when you’re all are staring at each other in a silence, and just break out in laughter. Listen to Miley Cyrus’s new album and listen to “Do My Thang”. Literally so inspirational! Keep doing your thaaang, people!
