Tell us about some of your campus involvement.

I’m currently the features reporter for the Reflector magazine here at GSU. (Student Media). I’m a mentor for Women of worth. I’m the backstage coordinator for Visage Fashion Company, and I’m also the Vice president of a new book club on campus called Fifty Shades of Ladies.

What is it like working for the George-Anne?

Working for student media is a lot of hard work. It’s stressful, but it’s a good stress. It allows me to learn new things, meet new interesting people, practice my writing skills, as well as giving me an outlet to be creative. Let’s not forget the experience I can add as a resume builder.

What would you say has been your biggest accomplishment here at Georgia Southern?

Simply still being here, being involved, and maintaining my 3.0 GPA. With everything I’m involved in as well as trying to maintain my grades, personal life, and job, I’ve faced a lot of trials and tribulations. There have been many times where I wanted to give up. Even a time where I felt I should withdraw from college because of how much anxiety and stress I was dealing with. But I didn’t quit. I’m still here.

Now being a senior, what would you tell your freshman self?

“Keep God first in everything that you do. Get involved. Don’t be afraid to go after the things you love and always love yourself. You can do anything you set your mind to. Learn to rest, not to quit.. . and make sure you remember what’s important for your life. Protect your heart, mind, and dreams. Knowledge is power baby girl.”

Tell us your dream vacation.

This may sound corny, but.. . My dream vacation would be going somewhere with my life companion (who is currently nonexistent), and experiencing and witnessing the power of God and all of his beauty. That can be anywhere really, but.. I just would love to have a companion to experience that with me.

Georgia Southern

I am a junior majoring in Multimedia Journalism. My future goals are to attend The School of Law at Georgia State University, obtain a business administration law degree from there, and pursue my dreams of broadcasting/news reporting in the city of Atlanta. I enjoy watching movies, shopping, and trying new foods. I guess you could call me a typical girl. My hobbies consist of playing the piano for 15 years, playing the violin for eight years, modeling, and pageants. What can I say, I love being in the spotlight, but with my laid back personality you would never think that. I also have a passion for fashion and interior decorating. I absolutely love animals.
Jordan Wheeler is a Junior Pre-Law Philosophy major who attends Georgia Southern. Jordan loves writing, singing, and hanging out with friends.
