Is Being Delusional Always a Bad Thing?

“Having false or unrealistic beliefs or opinions.”

Have you ever had an idea that you didn’t follow through with? Have you ever laid at night thinking of scenarios with your crush before falling asleep? Ever given your thoughts on something, and they were met with questionable looks? Well, sorry to break it to you, love, you might be delusional too. Now, this is not an issue; although the word can be associated with waning mental health, this term does not always have the negative connotation such as its meaning suggests. These delusions do not have to be a negative thing. Delusions and dreams can be synonymous, but there can be a fine line between seeming delusional or dreamy. Truth be told, when you live in a delusion, you can make them a reality.

When it comes to your dreams and ideas, I believe it is best to be delusional. The ideas may seem unrealistic to some, but if you have faith in what you know you can do, anything is possible. Some people may believe others are luckier than them. However, if you believe things  come naturally to you, you will notice that they genuinely do. In a way, these are manifestations. There are many ways to manifest, but one of my favorites is believing everything you’re working for will fall into place.

Power of Positive Thinking

I had to learn is to stop thinking everything negative would happen to me. “They’ll never talk to me,” “I’ll never be able to pay for that” “I can’t dress like that.” Thinking this way will lead you to have a mind full of negative thoughts. Because truth be told, you must fake it til you make it. It may begin feeling fraudulent in the beginning, but in the end, you will see the positive feedback you get. This positive reinforcement will then give you the confidence you need to be the person you’re envisioning in your mind.

Through this thinking I was able to do things that I would have never thought I would be able to accomplish; like getting a new job, saving money for something I wanted or growing my social media. I simply acted like it was already in my possession. By doing this, you are putting out an energy that can be gifted back to you.

The Power of Goal Setting

Setting goals for yourself is so important. You can do this by  having them somewhere written in a journal, on a post it note on the mirror, or in your notes on your phone. I love making a list of goals for myself, long-term or short-term, then watching myself check them off my list. This gives me the motivation to achieve these things. This way I can manage myself before putting too much on my plate to achieve my goals. After scripting it out, I have the plan in the back of my mind, so I subconsciously am working towards it.

There are many other ways to turn your “delusions” into a reality. However, the main thing is believing in yourself, believing that everything that you want or desire is already yours. And remember that nothing is ever out of your reach; you are the creator of your own destiny.
