Are we seeking too much validation from social media? We often find ourselves on our phones 10 times out of 9 (yes, this was intentional) using apps like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and much more; all of which are a puddle full of opinions, who said this about this person and/or subject, how horrible blah blah blah’s day was and so much more. And sadly, we find ourselves posting just for the sake of a reaction.
It has gotten to the point where often you will see people post and have captions like, “Just posting for notification,” are you kidding me? Social media means that much to the society that we are posting for the sake of little banners to pop up on our phones. Let’s get into what these notifications mean. It seems like we look at things as the more the likes, the cuter the person, loads of heart eyes, you are definitely “poppin’!”
We allow social media to approve of our looks, the way in which we dress, how we carry ourselves, and the list goes on; that just happens to be the world in which we live in today. Maybe by 2040 we will have mini robots following us around giving us approvals on hairstyles or even our wardrobes, who knows? It could all be worse, right?
