Scare on the Square in the Boro

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Georgia Southern chapter.

One of the best Statesboro events hosted in October, well besides that fair that is. Scare on the Square has a bunch of events for people of all ages to participate in. There’s a costume contest, hay rides, and face painting.

Every year a Georgia Southern psychology professor hosts a haunted house at the end of the square. There’s everything from fun little games and activities to free candy for all of you with a sweet tooth.

And let’s not forget the main event. The Thriller Dance. This starts at 8 pm and everyone is welcome to join. The whole community gets together and does the Thriller Dance down the entire square.

Even if you don’t participate, trust me, this is something you don’t want to miss.

This year Scare on the Square will be hosted October 31st, on Halloween! Events begin at 4:30 and run till 8:30. This all takes place on East Main St, right in front of the Averitt Theatre. Anyone interested in setting up a booth, simply visit the downtown Statesboro site and sign up.
