Cap, Gowns, and Cards
Cap and gowns will be available for pick-up for both undergraduate and graduates Thursday, May 5, 2016, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at RAC. If you are unable to retrieve your items the undergraduate attire will remain at the RAC for pick-up on Friday, May 6, 2016, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Graduate degree recipients will be able to pick up their cap and gown at Hanner Fieldhouse if they are unable to retrieve their cap and gowns on Thursday.
In order for your name to be announced during the ceremony, you must have your name card that was mailed to you. If you have not received your card or have misplaced your car; a duplicate will be available for pick-up beginning on Monday, May 2, 2016, through Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Office of the Registrar. Â
The 411 on the Lantern Walk
Join the University Programming Board as we honor all of the Spring 2016 graduating seniors! Friends and families of graduates are welcome to attend! Graduates, wear your caps (and/or gown) and receive a free commemorative lantern! Light refreshments will be served. Please note: In the event of inclement weather, Lantern Walk will be moved to the Russell Union Ballroom.
It is advised to get there early due to potential of not receiving a lantern!!
Commencement and the Whole 100-yards
The seating for graduation will begin promptly at 8 a.m. Seating will be determined by the college you will be receiving your degree from.
Live Broadcast of the Ceremony
Relatives and friends may also view the ceremony in the Russell Union eater and Ballroom or the Williams Center Multipurpose Room. Seating is available on a first-come, first served basis.Â
Webcast of the Ceremony
Georgia Southern University is proud to present the Spring Commencement ceremony as a live webcast. Those wishing to view the broadcast can visit GeorgiaSouthern.edu/commencement on their computers or mobile devices. A test broadcast will be available 30 minutes prior to Commencement and the actual broadcast will begin a few minutes before the start of the ceremony.Â
Diploma Details
Diplomas will be mailed to the graduates at their diploma mailing address or their permanent home address. Please remember to update your diploma address (DA) in WINGS to an address that will be valid eight weeks after completing all degree requirements.Â
