What a Time to Be Alive

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Georgia Southern chapter.

We are gathered here today to celebrate this mixtape release. Please, look to your neighbor and say, “Neighbor, What a Time to Be Alive.”

On September 20th, Drake released his surprise joint mixtape with Future called, “What a Time to Be Alive.” The 6 God and Hendrix’s release was almost as surprising as the time Beyoncé digitally dropped her self-named album in the middle of the night.

When the mixtape released, it broke the internet; literally. Several mixtape sites crashed causing some to wait in agony. The eleven songs created a constant “lituation” through all of our speakers and headphones. From the opening song with the cliche name of : “Digital Dash,” to the last song “30 for 30 Freestyle.”

Quickly after the release, meme’s started to flood social media websites. One of the more popular ones, was the one that thanked Ciara and Meek Mill for such a glorious release.

OVO and Hendrix fans can now rejoice together because after all, “What a Time to be Alive.”
