I want to preface this with the fact that I love Dunkin’. It might be because I’m originally from MA and it’s a very New England thing, but either way, Dunkin’ is absolutely my go-to. Usually I just stick with my go-to orders and I don’t try the new drinks but I decided that since it was spring break, I was going to try their newest cold brew. I love cold brew and wanted to see what their newest flavor would be like.
The new flavor is a chocolate and caramel cold brew. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I have never put chocolate or caramel in my cold brew so I was both excited and unsure. I do want to make a disclaimer that I made a minor mistake and ordered it with cream and sugar. I probably should have gotten it plain since I was doing a taste test of it, but I fumbled the order at the drive thru window and got it with cream and sugar. I ordered a small chocolate caramel cold brew with cream and sugar and the chocolate cold foam that it comes with.
I was very surprised when I received the drink, and on top of the cold foam there were little crumbles that appeared to be chocolate and caramel cookie pieces. I could be wrong but that would be my best guess. Overall, the drink is not bad. However, it’s interesting and I probably would not order it as a drink in the morning. It tasted more like a dessert instead of a coffee and I think it would be too sweet for me to have in the morning when I usually have coffee. The chocolate taste was very strong. I did not really taste the caramel at all. The cold foam was pretty good but also very heavy with chocolate flavor. I am not sure how I feel about the crumble cookie chunks on top (if that is what they were). They weren’t bad, but I feel like they maybe were not totally necessary. Overall, the drink was not bad, but it was filling. I probably wouldn’t order it again but I didn’t hate it.
