Did you know that the most common thing on a bucket list is to go skydiving?! After my experience with Skydive the Beach- Byron Bay I finally understand why. While on vacation in Byron Bay I booked my skydive and they provided my transportation to and from my hostel, not just any transportation Iâm talking a limousine! Once arriving my nerves started taking over, but I was actually a lot calmer than I anticipated. I have never been the biggest fan of heights so I was really nervous to jump out of a plane at 1,400ft. All my friends said that the hardest part getting in the plane, because once youâre in there is no turning back. I got matched up with an instructor based on my weight and he put me in my harness, and triple checked everything (which made me feel really safe). I was calm the whole plane ride up, it didnât really hit me that I was jumping out of this plane until I watched the guys before me vanish before my eyes. I was terrified but there was no turning back. I left the plane with that rollercoaster feeling in your stomach but it only took about 2 seconds after leaving the plane until it was gone.
The âfree-fallingâ portion of the skydive felt like you were floating in the air, and gravity was the only thing working against you. I LOVED every second of it. Once the parachute was pulled my instructor pointed out all these land marks in Byron, which was really neat. He even let me control the parachute. When the skydive was over I was ready to go again. I would highly recommend Skydive the Beach- Byron Bay to anyone who is complicating skydiving, there is a reason why skydiving is on everyoneâs bucket list!
