Finals are just around the corner and like everyone else in college, you want to succeed and be one step closer to your degree. Studying is not hard but it can be tedious. Studying can be turned into a fun experience that way you learn and enjoy your time. Finals are important to your overall final class grade.

Go Dark

Take a break from all of your social media accounts: Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Try to go the weeks leading up to finals without them by deleting all the apps on your phone so you will not be tempted to log on. If that is a hard thing to do, you can always use it during study breaks, but be very careful with those social media breaks because that can lead to procrastination.

Study Group

Get together with a couple people from each class and go over the study materials. Studying with others can be a big help because you can use each others’ study techniques to pass the class together. If you are too shy about meeting new people, try studying with a group of friends you already know. You all can help keep each other on track as well as take turns to help one another with your study guides.

Planning

Find out in advance when all your finals will take place and put it into your schedule so you can know how to plan. Then, make a study schedule and stick to it. If you have a subject that you are more worried about set out more study time for that exam.

Location

Where you study should be one of your priorities during finals week because it is important to your study process. Find a good study place that is quiet and will make you comfortable. Try the school library or a little quiet spot on campus. If your room is the quietest place, just stay there and continue to be great.

Ask Around

Do try to find some help from a fellow student who has taken the class before. Ask around because as a freshman, you are not the only one who has taken the class before. You can ask in any one of the group chats for your campus. Chances are someone will reply and will lend a helping hand. Do not be afraid to get all the help you can. As the saying goes, “closed mouths don’t get fed.”

Finals week will be a lot to take in but don’t worry. You’ve got this! Just stay positive, stay on task and you will be enjoying your break before you know it.
