Visiting pumpkin patches or hitting up an apple orchard are always on our to-do list when Autumn rolls around, but sometimes staying in to cook up some delicious fall desserts with family and friends are the move! See what you can cook up by trying some of these recipes below.

Pumpkin Spice Cookies

Imagine a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte in a cookie. That’s exactly what this sweet treat tastes like.

Here’s what you need: 

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened

  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • For Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 8 oz. cream cheese

  • 3 tsp. vanilla

  • 4 cups powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Black Bottom Maple Pumpkin Pie

Growing up, pumpkin pie was one of my absolute favorites desserts. This spin is sure to amaze even the picky! 

  • Pie dough for one 9″ pie crust 
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 cups pumpkin puree, homemade and strained
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 4 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 8-10 whole pecans

Chai Spiced Donuts Source 

Not in the mood to make the drive to Dunkin that morning? No problem! You can easily whip up your own batch of Chai Spiced Donuts.

  • 1 and 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour 
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (8 Tablespoons; 115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled (divided)
  • 1 large egg1
  • 1/4 cup (60g) sour cream1
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk1
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups cooked and mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sifted confectioners’ sugar
  • 5 teaspoons orange juice

Apple Cutie Pies

One cannot simply forget about the ultimate Fall dessert staple, Apple pie! This take on the classic dish will leave you with mini pies that are equally cute as they are tasty!

2 tbsp. butter

3 Granny Smith apples, finely chopped

1/4 c. sugar

1/4 c. brown sugar

1 tbsp. cinnamon

1/2 tbsp. ground nutmeg

1 tbsp. cornstarch

Juice of 1/2 lemon

All-purpose flour, for work surface

2 refrigerated pie crusts (such as Pillsbury)

1 c. caramel (warmed in microwave to make spreadable, if necessary)

Egg wash, for brushing

2 tbsp. cinnamon sugar, for sprinkling
