As soon as the temperature hit below 70 degrees last week, I laid out my comfiest sweater, pulled out my socks, and hit shuffle on my fall playlist. I, like many others, relate the season to the aesthetics of the “Twilight” saga or other fall movies to live out our ‘main character’ daydreams.
Although fall is not my favorite season, with summer taking that place, I cannot complain when it makes its entrance with its crisp, cool air. There is nothing better than chill, nostalgic music that can warm your heart even on the coldest of days.
The feeling I get from the changing of the leaves, the scent of pumpkin spice, and the process of switching out my tank tops for sweatshirts is something I tend to forget until the time comes, which makes it exciting every year.
My go-to album for fall is “Parachutes” by Coldplay; hence a couple of songs from the record on this playlist. Maybe it’s the vivid scents of the season or the memories I have made throughout the years, but as I mentioned, nostalgia and fall-time go hand in hand for me.
With songs from Elliot Smith to Mazzy Star to tracks like “Roslyn” from the “Twilight” soundtrack and “Seven” from Taylor Swift, this playlist invites you into my world so you can get into the autumnal spirit. So, kick off our shoes, slide on your comfiest socks, pick up a book or a craft, light a candle, and enjoy!
