Her Campus: What are you looking forward to this semester?

Camilla Mhute: My schedule is jam packed with a lot of classes that I’m really excited for. I’m tackling acting, public speaking, French and media writing, in which all of them I’ve been waiting to take. I’m also excited to be working with HCGSU as the Editorial Team lead because I’ve been meaning to get more involved so this is a chance for me to get closer with my team.

HC: What to do with your role as the new Editorial Team Lead?

CM: I’ll be hosting workshops to strengthen our writing skills, finding our voice and being a team. I want to create that magazine environment.

HC: Where do you see the content going this semester?

CM: We have a really strong team as far as writing but the workshops will make us even stronger because we’ll have al lot of ideas and be more inspired. We’ll have even more detailed content because we’ll collectively have better vision to reach a broader audience.

HC: Did you set any goals for 2016 and if you did what were they?

CM: I definitely set some goals. One is to be honest to myself. Not that I was a liar before but just to be true to myself throughout different circumstances and never lose sight of who I am. You come across a lot of different beliefs and I’ve lost sight of who I was before by letting myself be persuaded. *Holds up her ring*

HC: What’s the ring mean?

CM: This is a promise to stay true to who I am, never stray from my values and to just stay grounded.

HC: Describe yourself in 3 words.

CM: I’m spontaneous, I love to laugh, when I was in High School I was voted most likely to be giggly for no reason, so giggly, and talkative.

HC: What are your career goals after graduating from Georgia State?

CM: After graduating State I am without a doubt moving to New York City where fashion lies and I can grow and become the person that I have been dying to be. I would ultimately be a fashion magazine editor. Hopefully at Vogue, or Teen Vogue, those are my aims, that’s where I’m going.

HC: When did you know you wanted to be apart of the fashion world?

CM: I think it started when I was obsessed with Hannah Montana, I’d watch and sketch all her outfits. London Tipton was also my favorite from Suite Life of Zac and Cody. Then I started reading magainzes, like Teen Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle. It only recently just came to me, what I am  being like a “fashion girl”.

HC: What are the things that make you feel passionate?

CM: I try to remind myself everyday is to keep my child-like senses alive because when we’re young we’re dreamers. We picture exactly what we want to be and what we want to do, but a lot of people get out into the world and lose sight of that because we have bills, and boys are breaking your heart so that sways you away from what you envisioned you wanted for yourself when you were young. So I’m passionate not letting myself forget that.

HC: What’s most important to you?

CM: I would definitely say connection to people because I don’t think there is a single soul on this planet who can survive without connecting to people and be truly happy.  When you don’t have connections with other people, you’re out of touch with the world. If you can connect with people, especially different types of people, I think that’s really important.

HC: What are some things that keep you going?

CM: My whole family, but mainly my little sister. I feel like she looks up to me and she is the one person that I never want to disappoint. I feel like I have to set the example to be the kind of person she wants to see me as. I want her to be proud of me.

HC: How do you find yourself overcoming obstacles?

CM: By journaling and doing yoga. I do a lot of yoga because I do get stressed and overwhelmed. I completely stop thinking about everything and try to work it out by writing or literally working it out,,

HC: What would make a guy bae?

CM: A guy has to charming. There’s nothing more attractive than charm and a lot of guys don’t have that. If you’re interesting, weird and intriguing I’m kind of like “what’s going on here?”
