How To Balance Being Booked and Busy While Still Maintaining Your Grades This Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at GSU chapter.

Every college girl would agree that it would be an understatement to say life becomes more and more jam-packed with responsibilities as each school year passes by. From juggling part-time jobs to attending demanding classes throughout the week, college is a season in life that can often throw a lot at you at once.

Time management matters more than ever during the collegiate years and finding ways to maximize the hours in a day is the best way to operate. If you’re a girl who is constantly “booked and busy,” we’ve rounded up a few tips that will help you balance your booming life while still maintaining your grades this semester.

1. Use tools that will help you stay on top of your to-do list.

It’s easy to forget about everything you have to do when you’re always on the move. Invest in a planner, utilize your smartphone’s Calendar, or even use a digital organization app like MyHomework to keep yourself organized throughout the semester. This will help you manage your school work and other responsibilities, so you won’t ever miss a beat.

2. Map out your schedule each week.

Take a second each week to jot down what classes you have to attend, any special engagements, or upcoming shifts at work. Seeing everything you have to do every day will help you plan accordingly. Make sure you to leave at least one day a week open for activities you enjoy like spending time with friends and family or binge-watching the latest Netflix show. This will help to make sure you don’t experience burnout from being too bogged down with work and school.

3. Do work when you’re the most productive.

When do you produce your best work? If you work more efficiently during a certain time of day, use that to your advantage and complete most of your assignments and projects during that time frame. This will allow you to use the other hours in the day to

4. Nip your procrastination habits in the bud.

Being “booked and busy” and procrastination can’t go hand in hand. When it’s time to complete assignments for class, mute your social media notifications so you won’t be tempted to scroll endlessly. This will allow you to knock out better quality work quicker, which will leave you more time to dedicate to everything else you have on your plate.
