We all have our favourite seasons, and we all have our reasons for having them as such. My favourite – and I know many agree – is fall (or autumn, which sounds even prettier). There are so many things I love about this particular season, but here are some of my favourites!

1. The colours

Nothing is better than going for a walk outside while the leaves are changing colour. Plus, I can’t be the only one that absolutely loves the crunching sound leaves make when you step on them – maybe it’s a little, uh, morbid to enjoy the leaves dying, but they’ll be back net year!

2. It’s spooky season!

Halloween is my absolute favourite holiday – yes, even more so than Christmas. Spooky movies, spooky decorations, dressing up in costumes, I love it all! (P.S.: If you need something new to watch this Halloween, I made a list of some of my favourite movies here!)

3. Sweater weather

Sure, summer is nice, but I can’t be the only one that isn’t the biggest fan of hot weather. One of my favourite things about fall is being able to wear jeans, sweaters and light jackets all the time – of course, this is Canada, so sometimes we do get a little preview of winter. Yikes.

4. The scents and flavours

Some of the best scented candles are fall themed ones such as pumpkin, cider and autumn leaves. As for flavours, I know a lot of people are big fans of pumpkin spice, but what I look forward to in the fall is the roasted pumpkin seeds! For those of you that have never had them, I definitely recommend – just save your seeds when you carve your pumpkin, rinse them off, use whatever seasoning you’d like and bake them for a bit! It’s super simple, super delicious, and something I look forward to every year.

5. Enjoying hot drinks

Now, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t drink any hot chocolate at all this summer. I’d also be lying if I said I won’t be drinking any more iced coffee throughout the fall and winter. However, hot drinks like hot chocolate, lattes, and more are so much more enjoyable when the weather is a little cooler! What hot drink are you going to enjoy this fall?
