I have a sweet tooth, so caramel popcorn is one of my favourite go-to snacks. This recipe is quick and easy to do, but you better hide it from your friends and roommates because I guarantee your treat will be gone before you have a chance to dig in!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of butter
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
Directions:
- Prep: Place aluminum foil over a baking pan and put popped popcorn in a large bowl.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Once the butter is liquefied, add the brown sugar and whisk continuously. When the mixture is boiling (bubble, bubble, toil, and trouble) stop stirring and allow it to boil.
- After about 4 minutes, mix in the vanilla in and then the baking soda.
- At the 5-minute mark, remove from heat and drizzle over popcorn. Use a rubber spatula to evenly spread the caramel coating over the popcorn pieces.
- Transfer popcorn to a baking sheet and allow to cool.
- Serve and enjoy!
