It’s crazy to think that my four years of university are coming to an end. While I’m excited to be done, this definitely isn’t how I pictured my senior year of school going, and it’s been bittersweet. This past year has been a rollercoaster of emotions and it’s given me time to reflect on my experience at the University of Guelph.
Overall, I had a great time at UofG and I’m so grateful to this institution, the city of Guelph, and all the folks I’ve met along the way for helping me grow into the person that I am today. My undergrad had its ups and downs, from meeting my forever friends to the never-ending stress that seemed to surprise me each exam season. With each experience that Guelph had to offer me, I learned something new about myself and the world around me.
I’ve learned that I can handle pretty much anything that gets thrown at me and I’m much stronger than I think I am. I’ve of course learned valuable information in the classroom that I will carry with me as I step into the world as a young adult. And as cheesy as it sounds, my journey and the lessons I’ve learned truly have been about the friends I made along the way.
I’m eternally grateful to my first-year self who joined Her Campus at Guelph, this group of amazing women has supported me through my entire undergraduate degree and I’ll cherish my time with them. Through HC at Guelph, I got my first big-kid job, which introduced me to friends I otherwise never would have met. From there, my eyes were opened to the career path I’m now pursuing. I won’t draw out my entire roadmap for you, but all in all, I have HC at Guelph to thank for the person I’ve become today and I don’t know where I’d be without it.
