5 Ways to Spend Your 2022 Valentines Day in DC

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at GWU chapter.

Soooo the time has come around again for Valentine’s Day which means all things LOVE. Whether you are going out with your significant other or a close friend, I wanted to share some the great spots I’ve found around DC. Surely anyone would love a fancy expensive dinner, but let’s be real about us college students: we can’t spend that much. So with this is mind I’ve created a list of options that are both nice and not too pricey! I won’t be spending that much so I know I’ll be indulging my date and I with one of these amazing options!

1. Circa – close to the Foggy Campus

I have dined here before and even though they are a little extra pricey compared to some other restaurants around, the quality and atmosphere was worth it every dime. I personally recommend the Brussells +Blue small plate….AMAZING in itself but also to share!

2. Filomena Ristorante – Georgetown Bestie

I know lots of people dine here and I visited it for V-Day in 2020. Very romantic atmosphere and great Italian food, what more could you want?!

3. Le DeSales – contemporary take on French foodz near DuPont

So, I have never visited before but the menu and its pricing looks perfect for a fancy but not too expensive dinner. I will definitely be visiting eventually.

4. Mazi DC New American Cuisine – American Dishes with a Mediterranean appeal  – also near DuPont

This place was first on my list for needing to try because the food looks amazing! Prices are mediocre but the food and atmosphere will surely fulfill your Valentine’s day needs.

5. The cheapest – COOK AT HOME!

The most convenient and cheapest option by far – just cook at home! I might be doing a combo of drinks and appetizers out but then coming back and eating a bigger meal. Another plus is that you don’t have to get all jazzed up and most definitely can enjoy the night in sweatpants.
