Sit-Down GWorld Restaurants You Need to Eat At This Weekend

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at GWU chapter.

Whether you love Japanese or Mexican food, there are some restaurants on the GW dining plan you have to try. So, let go of your preconceived and just go try this satisfying food. Obviously we all have our own food preferences, but these are spots students at GW would agree rise above and beyond. Not only are they tasty, but they are also sit down, full service establishments. Sometimes we just want a normal restaurant experience and these places are sure to fit the bill!

Los Cuates – 1564 Wisconsin Ave NW, Georgetown

A new favorite, this Georgetown Mexican dine-in is up and coming for GW students. It features a large menu including tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, and some kickbutt guacamole. As a Mexican food connoisseur, I can confirm this place is worth the GWorld cash. Grab some pals and get ready for zesty lime margarita pitchers. Great for birthdays.

Toryumon Japanese House – 1901 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Foggy Bottom

Imagine a place on the edge of campus with every Asian dish you could crave. That is Toryumon Japanese House. They have sushi, hibachi, ramen, bao buns, fried rice, and even a tasty fusion dish– the Japanese Taco! This GWorld jem is sure to impress, especially with a modern atmosphere complete with artwork and comfy seating.

HomeSlyce – 2121 K St NW, Foggy Bottom

Ever heard of a boat pizza slice? Neither had I until I popped over to this casual spot near campus. Their menu is far and wide, including wings, an extensive pizza menu and even great salads! While at HomeSlyce, try their caprese appetizer, chopped salad, and their BBQ chicken kale pizza. They have multiple pizza size options, and plenty of items for both vegans and gluten-free students!

Froggy Bottom Pub – 2021 K St NW, Foggy Bottom

Super underrated, this sit-down restaurant has a diverse menu sure to satisfy every member of your dining group. Owned by survivors of the Vietnam war, the menu features delicious Vietnamese staples such as a garden rolls and authentic Pho. Curiously, the menu also has american staples like gourmet burgers, fries of the white and sweet potato, and wings that are sure to impress.

Bodega – 3116 M St NW, Georgetown

This intimate restaurant is great for small groups and couples, with a big area in the back for large parties! Tapas of all kinds are offered at this surprising GWorld addition, with a grilled mushrooms and bacon-wrapped dates noted as the fan favorites. There are options for all kinds of eating preferences, like vegan and gluten-free. This place is definitely worth the GWorld cash with great service and an upscale atmosphere.

Kaz Sushi – 1915 I St NW, Foggy Bottom

Finding good sushi is like finding the perfect fitting jeans. Once you have it, you want to go again and again. Kaz is sure to replace your favorite hometown sushi with delicious rolls, and excellent service. The atmosphere is incredibly nice, with modern finishings and a clean decor. I highly recommend their crispy brussel sprouts and rainbow roll. Awesome date night night option.

Tonic – 2036 G St NW, Foggy Bottom

Famous for their crispy tater tots, Tonic is known at GW for a solid options on the GWorld dime. When Emmanuel Macron came to GW, they took him to eat at this American hot spot. They have great burgers and creative dishes for dinner, as well as a really pleasing Brunch menu. Located in the heart of campus, this pick is always a go-to for campus visitors.
