Fall is upon us here on the Hill, and that means it’s time to embrace the crisp weather, the cider mill, and the beautiful colors. But more importantly, it’s time to bring out your most fashionable outfits for fashion’s best season. This is a guide for the most stylish trends this season; let’s get to it. Happy shopping!
The most important thing everyone needs in the fall is the perfect light jacket for the cool weather. A simple black leather jacket like this one from Topshop is a fall essential. It matches with everything and gives an edgy look to any outfit. A leather jacket is also versatile; it’s great for wearing to class during the day or to the bars at night.

Lastly, try a vest to add warmth and style to any outfit. Either go for a dark color such as navy blue, dark olive, or hunter green, or try to find a cool print, such as this camo vest from J. Crew, to add a little more uniqueness to your look.

Moving on from outerwear, one of my favorite trends for the fall is the sweater and skirt look. This only works if the skirt is short (mid-thigh length) and relatively flowy (it cannot be a pencil or bodycon skirt). Pair your skirt with a loose-fitted chunky sweater and you have a really cute and trendy outfit. To finish it off, wear either combat or motorcycle boots (ankle to mid-calf height- this outfit is not as cute with tall boots). These boots made by Steve Madden are super cute and comfy. Combat or motorcycle boots are also perfect to wear with dark-wash jeans or leggings in the fall.

Another great fall trend is the slouchy/harem pant. These are super cool because they are a stylish change from the typical jean or legging that we usually see when the weather gets cold. My favorite styles within this trend are either a leather pant or a printed pant such as these found at Shopbop.
