The movie Bones and All ,starring Timothee Chalamet and Taylor Russell was a burst of raw emotions. I would highly recommend the movie. Sure, I went there just to see Timothee and Taylor on the big screen and knew that the duo would would be amazing to see on screen. But I left the movie theater in utter shock, and in awe from what I just witnessed. The film truly made my love for the director Luca Guadagino so much deeper. Guadagino has been the director behind so many iconic films like Call Me By Your Name. His work is amazing through the way he makes the audience feel for the characters, whether it’s hatred, sadness, or love. The cinematography in every movie he has directed makes his work such stand out pieces. Not only was this directed by Luca but it was also produced by Timothee Chalamet. If you follow him you would know that this is his first movie that he has produced.

Back to the movie Bones and All, the movie just makes you feel many emotions, although some parts are very graphic the overall meaning and theme just makes up for it. The romanticism and the chemistry between Taylor and Timothee is.. chef’s kiss. You really feel the love between the actors, and watching each scene fall more into each other just makes the movie everything and more. I don’t want to go into too much detail but the movie is not about cannibalism but more a metaphor used to demonstrate something that society looks down upon.

From the king; Timothee himself says it is a metaphor about addiction. The craving of eating people can symbolize many things in real life. Taylor says the story felt so inherently loving. These two actors learn to grow and find themselves together, and you witness this during the movie. The two characters and still teens in the real world, for a certain reason, allows them to end up meaning and going on a road trip. Taylor as Maren is on a journey of self discovery, learning about her past, her family, and a place to call home. Timothee as Lee constantly visited home to see his sister whom he lives for, it symbolized how someone can be your home rather than a specific place.

In addition, it is a coming of age story that allows women to develop and understand each other in a way that most couples don’t. To spend hours and days at a time, and understand what the other went through. Maren had the privilege to meet Lee’s sister, a very important person in Lee’s life. Opening up and allowing each other into the other’s world, shows how much love they had for each other. The movie wasn’t only about passion or attractiveness, rather it was about the feelings and emotions of one another. Understanding each other’s backgrounds and letting each other in was art at its finest.

The ending just expressed the love they felt for one another. This movie deserves more recognition, the theme, the cinematography, and the CHEMISTRY is just everything! As this movie can be for a certain audience, I would recommend it to anyone. The movie has such ups and many downs as it is a horror movie but the bigger meaning plays a huge role in the overall meaning.
