Cuffing Season or Bag Season?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hampton U chapter.

That time of the year is upon us ladies. Leaves are falling, it’s getting darker earlier, the temperature is dropping, and the smell of pumpkin spice is taking over the air! So, it is evident that cuffing season is here! Going out all hours of the night is not that desirable anymore and Netflix and chill seems more comforting. But who wants to binge watch these movies and series alone? I definitely don’t. A little boo would be nice during these cooler months but a bag would be A LOT more satisfying.

In addition to it being cuffing season, it is also bag season! It’s time to lock in, build that resume, and start researching/investing in your future. Those internships, scholarships, and job opportunities you are looking to have this summer have deadlines that are closer than you expect. A majority of us THINK that we can wait until next semester to start applying for those competitive opportunities, but around that time they already have an idea on who they want for the upcoming summer.

Another way to get in your bag this season is by hitting the gym. A great man once said, “Summer bodies are built in the winter.” I don’t know exactly who but it’s true! This is the best time to get into a routine, so when the sun starts to shine, so can your body. Youtube, Pinterest, and Google can be helpful for those days when you just don’t know what to do, and why pay for a personal trainer when you can access one for free?! It’s going to be hard trying to stay consistent at first, but once you see the change you will fall in love.

So, in addition to you baking cookies and doing all the cute holiday activities with your boo, don’t forget to chase that bag. Remember, a stack isn’t going to wake up one day and decide this isn’t working. Invest in yourself and your brand!
