Many of you may know him as Tookie, but Leshawn David Edwards II is also a member of the Beta Chi chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The Chicago native is a Strategic Communications major on track for a Pre-Law degree.HC: What made you interested in your organization?
LE: I’ve had a love for my organization my entire life. For the most part, my role models  growing up were my father and grandfather. They have  influenced me in positive ways  and I’ve been groomed to be a Kappa man my whole life. Â
HC: How do you feel being Greek has impacted your life?
LE: Being Greek for me, has brought on more responsibilities. People are always looking at you to make that impact around the campus. It’s eye-opening.
HC: Aside from being apart of Kappa Alpha Psi, what are some other things you’re apart of ?
LE: In my time here at Hampton University, I’ve been involved in almost everything. I’ve been in the Student Leadership program, the Student Recruitment Team, American Marketing Association, the ROTC program and even the Lacrosse team. Aside from that, I cut hair as a side hustle and have a painting & art business.
HC: Do you believe that it’s possible to date another Greek, or are you opposed
LE: I think love is love.
HC: What’s the best thing about having line brothers?
LE: The best thing about having my line brothers is the fact that they’ll make sure you’ll have everything you need. Whether you’re mourning someone, need to be picked up, or you just may need some food. They got you.
HC: Do you feel like girls throw themselves at you now that you’re Greek?
LE: I’m pretty stand off-ish so I wouldn’t even realize if a girl was coming on to me. For me personally, I wouldn’t be as interested in a girl if she were to pursue me for the simple fact that I am a Nupe.
HC: Who are you outside of being Tookie the Kappa?
LE: I’m Leshawn. I’m a brother, a son, an entrepreneur. Im multi talented
HC: What’s been your favorite part about being Greek ?
LE: My favorite part has to be the fact that I can throw up the Yo with my Pops. To be able to see my dream fulfilled is amazing.
HC: How do you feel Greek Life  betters the black community?
LE: We are leaders. It’s a hand selected few that get chosen and they are emerging from their respective schools or programs. We need those people to go out and impact the community.
HC: Where do you see yourself after you Graduate?
LE: I see myself owning a large conglomerate of businesses as well as receiving my J.D. and MBA. In the future I plan to be the mayor of Chicago
