Spring break is almost here and I could not be happier! No classes, no Zoom meetings, and more sleep! With the long-awaited break just around the corner, I wonder how it’ll be in a pandemic. Some people will travel safely and hang out with friends, but I like time to myself.

Allow me to let you in on a little secret: I’m an introvert! Yes, I hang out with people, but I treasure doing things with me, myself, and I. So if you’re an introvert wondering what to do for Spring Break, I’d be happy to suggest some ideas and maybe you can try them, too!

1. Paint ‘n’ Play!

There is nothing more relaxing than heading to your favorite crafts store, grabbing some supplies, and having a fun paint night. I recently got into acrylic painting and I am in love! Pinterest has so many ideas on what to paint and you could even follow a YouTube tutorial (Bob Ross is my personal favorite!) One thing I do when I paint is play chill music like H.E.R, Jasmine Sullivan, and of course, SZA’s Good Days.

2. You Grow, Girl!

Now I’m not a plant mom, but the idea of being surrounded by beautiful greenery while drinking some coffee just sounds so amazing! I used to have a garden when I was younger and it was so nice and to plant those cute little seeds, water them, and watch them grow into beautiful flowers. A great plant that has been a staple in rooms is aloe vera. It has so many health benefits and it’s such a pretty plant to look at!

3. Hit the Books!

Is it just me or does it feel like people have been reading more now than ever? Well, keep the energy going and grab a few books! Barnes and Noble is my favorite book store and every time I go, there’s always something new to discover. Whether you’re interested in romance, sci-fi, or even manga, reading is such a beautiful way to pass time. If you want to invest in reading over break, then create a reading space or corner in your room! Target offers a lot of cute furniture and shelves so you can make the reading nook of your dreams!

4. Gamer Girl

One thing that has become very popular over the pandemic is the Nintendo Switch. I have one and one of my favorite games to play is Animal Crossing: New Horizons. If you’re creative, love adventure, and just want to escape from life for a while, then this game is for you! Ever since I purchased the game, I’ve spent countless hours decorating my island home, designing new clothes, and making my villagers as happy as can be. Now, the Nintendo Switch is a little pricey, but a cheaper alternative is the Nintendo Switch Lite. But, if you’re a PC gamer, then you can never go wrong with a classic game like the Sims 4!

5. Dear Diary
 Journal

Lastly, a great thing to do over break is journal. I cannot stress how much journaling has helped me as an introvert. On days when I don’t feel like talking to a lot of people or I get frustrated over something, I take the time to sit down and journal. The cool thing about journaling is that it can have whatever you want! Bible verses, inspirational quotes, doodles— you name it. You can find different types of journals and drawing supplies at Michaels, Target, Barnes, and Noble, or even Amazon. I love it because it provides a space for me to get my feelings down on paper and it forces me to slow down.

So there you have it! I hope some of these suggestions piqued your interest. To all my introverts, I hope you all have an amazing Spring Break! And to all my extroverts, I’ll get back to you when break is over, I promise!
