Motherhood. 10 letters and the most important. Whenever I hear the word motherhood, or anything relating to being a mother. I can only thank God for the relationship I have with my mother and my grandmother.

I understand that some people have a certain relationship with their family and it can be touch and go as to how close they are. Sometimes people draw more to their fathers, their mothers, both equally, or neither.

But in this instance, my mom and I have an amazing relationship and I know that it wasn’t easy to get to where we are and I am so thankful for the fact that we did.

I am not in any place to further explain or define motherhood but I know the importance of having a mother in my life and having a bonding relationship with her.

Being my mom’s only child, I had the privilege of watching her grow into the amazing woman she is today. She had me when she was 27 years old and even then, she was already a strong and powerful woman.

Everything I do in my life is to make her proud and I am determined to show her that everything she has done for me has made me into the successful person I am today.

She has always been there for me and supportive through all my endeavors and I believe that her unconditional love has been the reason I have continued to be successful.

` I know whenever something happens in my life and I don’t know what to do, she will point me in the right direction and I will either listen or take her suggestions.

But at the same time, I know that whenever we have some type of disagreement, she will set me straight and I know that it’s for the best. We will bicker about anything and in the end it will turn into some type of joke and we will forget what the argument was actually about.

But not only was I blessed with a mother that I will forever have ties to, not only biologically but through the matching tattoos we have, I also have my grandma.

Growing up, I was homeschooled and my grandma was my sole and primary teacher so it was just the two of us doing schoolwork all the time. Due to this, I discovered my love for writing, organization, and where my old soul developed.

I have always been the person that enjoyed doing ‘old people’ things and I have no shame! I enjoy reading books and doing anything school related, but I also enjoy going out or watching a drama TV show like Scandal. These two sides of my personality come from the mother role models I had the privilege of growing up with and developing into a woman.

Through the love of these two women, I can only imagine where the sky can take me because I just know that my mom and grandma are the epitome of Brockington Women. I know that everything I want to do is to make them proud and I love them with all my heart.
