Here it is, the end of the spring semester. Just when the sun and nice weather wanted to make an appearance, we have to start packing up to go home for the summer. Whether we have a job or internship waiting for us, or we’ll be taking summer classes, we all will miss our home by the sea for three months. That includes our friends, professors, and all of the functions that we attend. Â
1.    Friends
Of course we’re going to miss our friends. From going to parties, café dates, and have long study sessions, it’s hard to believe we’ll be away from them. We’ll go from seeing them 24/7 to never seeing them in our room, walking around campus, or in the hall. Now who is going to sice you when your outfit and makeup is bomb? But if you guys are real friends, you’ll be calling, texting, or even FaceTiming each other each and every day. Distance, time difference, or prior engagements won’t stop you guys from keeping in contact with one another.
2.    Professors
Now there are some professors that we absolutely can NOT stand, but there are a few who we just love! The ones who we received positive vibes from on the first day of class, the ones who we can vent our life to, and the ones who are like second mothers/fathers to us that give us great life advice. Be sure to visit them a few more times before you pack up and leave, don’t want your favorite to forget about you. They may be able to help you land a job or internship next year.
3.    Homecoming and other functions
Now this is probably the most anticipated event that everyone waits for. We have to wait three months for the first Holland, the first 12-2, and Homecoming. I’m pretty sure you and your friends have already thought of what you are wearing, what events you’ll go to, and how you guys will pop out like the Hampton women you are. It won’t be long until you and your girls reunite to slay.
These are just a few things we as Hamptonians will miss, besides the swag surfs, Ogden events, and much more. Although it will be three months until we return or it’s your last time on the campus of the Illustrious Hampton University, these are some things we cherish and miss each day.
